For the Shrimp & Broccoli
- Shrimp – I use peeled and deveined shrimp for convenience, but you can also use whole shrimp if you prefer.
- Broccoli Florets – Fresh broccoli works best here. You can cut them into smaller bite-sized pieces if desired.
- Garlic – Fresh minced garlic adds a nice punch of flavor to the butter sauce.
- Paprika – This gives the shrimp a bit of smokiness and color.
- Ground Black Pepper – Adds a touch of heat and flavor.
- Dried Oregano – You can substitute with Italian seasoning if you like.
- Red Chili Flakes – These add a mild kick of heat. Feel free to adjust the amount.
- Olive Oil – Used for sautéing the broccoli and shrimp. You can use avocado oil or another high-heat oil if preferred.
- Butter – The butter makes the sauce creamy and rich.
- Lemon Juice – Fresh lemon juice adds a zesty, refreshing flavor to the dish.
- Lemon Slices – Used for garnish and extra lemony flavor.
- Fresh Cilantro – Chopped cilantro adds a pop of color and freshness to the dish.
- Salt – Add to taste for seasoning.
For the Garlic Butter Sauce
- Butter – Provides the richness and base for the garlic butter sauce.
- Minced Garlic – Adds a strong, aromatic flavor to the butter sauce.
- Italian Seasoning (optional) – Adds a herby flavor that complements the shrimp and broccoli.
- Red Chili Flakes – For a slight kick of spice that balances the richness of the butter.
- Lemon Juice – Adds brightness and cuts through the richness of the butter sauce.

1. Can I use frozen broccoli instead of fresh?
Absolutely! You can use frozen broccoli. Just make sure to thaw it and pat it dry before adding it to the skillet. This helps prevent extra moisture in your dish and ensures your broccoli cooks nicely.
2. What size shrimp should I use?
For the best results, use medium to large shrimp. They hold up well in the skillet and cook quickly without getting tough. If you love extra-large shrimp, go for it — they’ll be just as tasty!
3. Can I prepare the garlic butter sauce ahead of time?
Yes, you can! Make the garlic butter sauce in advance and store it in the fridge for up to a week. When you’re ready to use it, simply reheat it gently in the skillet before adding the shrimp and broccoli.
4. How do I keep my shrimp from overcooking?
Shrimp cooks quickly, so just keep an eye on them. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and curl into a ‘C’ shape. This way, they stay juicy and tender without getting rubbery!
5. What can I serve this dish with?
Pair this skillet with cauliflower rice for a low-carb option or serve it alongside some crusty bread. A light side salad or a refreshing cucumber and tomato salad would also complement the dish perfectly!
