For Iced Matcha Green Tea Latte
- Milk of choice – This makes up the base of the drink. Use dairy or any plant-based milk you love; each one will slightly change the flavor and creaminess.
- Matcha powder – The star ingredient. Choose a good-quality matcha for a vibrant green color and smooth, earthy taste without bitterness.
- Vanilla Syrup, honey, or sugar – Adds sweetness to balance the natural earthiness of the matcha. Adjust to taste depending on how sweet you like your latte.
- Ice – Essential for that refreshing, café-style chill. It keeps the drink cold and perfectly sippable.

1.Do I need to mix the matcha with water first?
You don’t have to, especially if you’re using a blender.
But if you’re stirring by hand, mixing the matcha with a small amount of warm (not boiling!) water first helps prevent clumps and gives you a smoother drink.
2.Why does my matcha taste bitter?
Two common reasons: the water is too hot or the matcha quality is low.
Stick with warm or room temperature liquid for iced drinks, and use bright green matcha for the smoothest flavor.
3.Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes! You can blend the matcha, milk, and sweetener and store it in the fridge.
Give it a quick shake or stir before pouring over ice, and you’re good to go.
4.What’s the best sweetener to use?
Totally up to you.
Vanilla syrup, honey, maple syrup, agave, or plain sugar all work beautifully. Start small — you can always add more.
5.Do I need a special matcha whisk?
Nope! A blender makes it super easy.
If you don’t have one, a small whisk, milk frother, or even a tightly sealed jar (shake it well!) will do the trick.
